An extremely dangerous part of LeafClan territory, there are many fox dens here. Only the bravest warriors come to face the fox's gleaming teeth. LeafClan hopes to drive all the foxes out someday.

Stormpaw stalked carefully through the territory close to the fox dens, his tail lashing in furry. Earlier this morning, another apprentice had questioned his loyalty to LeafClan and called him a mouse brained rouge. He knew he'd never be fully trusted as a clan cat, but that really hurt. Of course, he had just hissed and stalked away angrily but now he was going to show that apprentice just what a loyal LeafClan cat he could be! He had never seen a fox before, but he knew Crowstar wanted to drive them out. He couldn't wait to the look on all their faces when he came back to camp dragging a fox behind him!

Crowstar was following Stormpaw, watching him. She knew that Stormpaw wanted to prove himself to the Clan, so Crowstar was going to let him do whatever he felt he needed to do. After all, Crowstar had once needed to prove herself to the Clans. If he got in trouble, she would help him.

Stormpaw crouched low as a fox crept out its den. He felt every fur on his pelt raise and his eyes went wide with shock. Those foxes were bigger than Wolfsong and he was one of the biggest cats he'd seen! Fear flashed in his eyes for a moment and was still present when he jumped on the fox with a yowl. His claws raked down the creatures pelt and he jumped on its back. He clinged to it but was flung off suddenly. He got up in time to feel a hard nip on his shoulder and blood flow freely out.He jumped at the fox again, this time getting a clean shot at it. He sent the fox running into the forest but felt intense pain on his left front paw and couldn't put any weight on it.

Crowstar burst out of her place in the bushes. "Stormpaw!" she meowed in shock. Crowstar had taken a liking to the young tom. After all, they had both had to prove themselves. Stormpaw's paw looked pretty bad. Worry showed in Crowstar's eyes. "Are you okay?"

Stormpaw felt his chest puff out with pride. "Did you see me Crowstar?" he meowed, excitement in his dark eyes. "I did good didn't I?" He meowed, proudly. He was panting some but still seemed bursting with pride and happiness. He didn't even hear Crowstar's question or realize his foot was hurt until he tried to put it down. He yowled in pain.

"Yes, I did see you chase off the fox." she mewed quickly. Crowstar spotted some cobwebs and put it on Stormpaw's wound. "This will stop the bleeding. Hopefully.. We need to get you back to camp."

"I'm fine though!" Stormpaw insisted. He didn't want to seem weak in front of Crowstar. "I can fight some more!"

"No you can't, Stormpaw!" she mewed. "Stop dreaming and face the truth! Your paw is seriously injured, and we're quite far from camp! And I'm sure you can't walk there!" Crowstar didn't mean to snap at him. She did it out of fear for the young tom.

Stormpaw felt a sharp pang of hurt in his chest and his ears went back. "I don't need anyone else yelling at me over how mousebrained I am! I got enough of that from Scar!" he hissed, annoyed and sad. Both were suddenly interrupted though by the wailing of a scared kit closeby.

"I'm so sorry... I was just so worried..." Crowstar whispered. Then she went to check out where the noise was coming from.

Stormpaw waited worriedly, his ears pricked forward. ----------- Ashkit backed up shaking, her small gray eyes wide with terror. In front of her was a full-grown fox, its jaws parted in a furious snarl. She had clawed its eye with a move Flamepaw taught her but she knew it was useless. Her eyes closed helplessly as the large animal leaped towards her.

Crowstar saw the kit and the fox, and pushed the gray kit out of the way. The fox jumped on Crowstar instead, its eyes gleaming with hunger. Crowstar pushed the fox off of her back, yowling furiously. Then she turned around and bit its hind leg hard, warning it to never come back. The fox retreated, growling as it went. Then Crowstar looked at the small kit. "Are you okay?" As she was gazing at the kit, she had a flashback. She remembered the day she had gave birth to three small kits, two small and lifeless. The other one looked exactly like the father, the same fiery personality.... Crowstar's mind went blank. "Swiftfoot?"

"No, that was my Father's name," meowed Ashkit, confusion gleaming in her previously scared gray eyes. Flamepaw was right, LeafClan cats were weird... "I'm Ashkit." Pride flowed through suddenly. "In two more moons, it'll be Ashpaw."

"N-no, of course." Crowstar mewed. "Of course you're not Swiftfoot, he's no longer with us..." For an instant, pride sparkled in Crowstar's eyes. She was so happy that her daughter was going to be an apprentice. "Now, you have to go back to SwampClan." she mewed firmly. "You shouldn't be on LeafClan territory. Furthermore, you shouldn't even be out of camp!"
