(This is the stony clearing of SnowClan. The camp is enclosed in a cave to shield themselves from the wind and many tunnel like entrances suround it)

Eaglestar had been talking to Winterpaw when she saw Fallensong and Iceheart dragging in her new apprentice. The young cat looked drowned. Her heart jumped out of her chest. "StarClan no!" she thought before rushing over. Her voice was calm but worried as she mewed over the voices of other worried and annoyed clanmates, "What happened?" She said it to Iceheart in a hiss, not expecting his reply.
"Ask little miss talkative over there," he hissed before dragging the drenched cat to the Medicine Den.

Fallensong cast her anxious eyes to the bedraggled apprentice. "She fell in the river." She mewed in a hushed tone. "She was doing quite well at first, but I don't think I was paying enough attention to her. It ws all my fault." It wasn't the first time that depths of misery opened in her soul, and her eyes got the shadow of despair that was customary for her.

Eaglestar's mouth hung open in shock for a moment. For the first time since that day, Fallensong had actually talked! She pushed down her glee for later and rest her tail on her friend's shoulder. "Apprentices fall in there all the time. As long as there not in there for a long time, they're usually fine," she soothed.

"Really?" She mewed hopefully, her warm blue eyes showing an emotion they hadn't in years. "I-I really don't know much about mentoring. I haven't really paid much attention to anybody since.....for awhile, and I only have vague memories of my apprentice life. Why did you ever think I would make a good mentor?" A picture appeared in her mind, of a handsome ginger tom mentoring an apprentice. Songbird had been an amazing mentor.

Eaglestar eyed her friend, eyes twinkling with mischief. She knew she would want to rip her fur off after her next comment. "She got you to talk again didn't she?" she mewed with a slight smirk. She was sure Leopardpaw would be fine and she hadn't seen so much emotions in her friends eyes for moons. She couldn't stop her purr as she flicked her tail on Fallensong with a friendly smile. "Welcome back," she purred.

Fallensong's eyes went wide. "I....I didn't even realize!" She mewed in shock. "I just called for help without thinking!" She knew this was a good thing, but couldn't help hanging her head in sorrow. "I feel like this is the last straw. Silence was like my way of mourning him, and now that that's over.....it's like accepting that he's really gone. " Her eyes shined with emotion for a moment, but she looked over and saw the medicine cat treating Leopardpaw. "Thanks." She purred. "For bringing me back-for saving my life."

"No problem," Eaglestar purred. "And don't worry about Leopardpaw. I'm sure she'll be just fine." She then began to form her next plan-finding Fallensong a new mate.
---------
Iceheart gave Fallensong a sharp glare as he walked past. "Try not to let your apprentice drown next time," he hissed, lips curled back. He flicked his scrawny tail at her as he walked by.

Fallensong's eyes narrowed in contempt. She would not stand for this! "At least I Have an apprentice!" She spat at him. "Nobody even trusts you to mentor a cat. I'm sure you would scare the poor thing so much, they would end up as 30-moon-old apprentices!"

"I've had an apprentice before!" he hissed while glaring. "And you wouldn't of had one either if it wasn't for Eaglestar being your friend! Its the only reason your still in the clan!"

Fallensong's eyes widened in outrage. What she wouldn't give to sink her claws into that mangy tom's fur right now! She cast a furtive glance at Eaglestar, as if wishing she would go away. "How dare you!" She hissed, her voice heavy with vehemence. "How dare you say I should be exiled? What have I ever done wrong, besides allow myself to fall into the depths of misery? I did a lot less than you, Mister foul-to-everybody!" her banner-like tail lashed with anger, and her cloudy blue eyes glowed bright with hate.

Iceheart turned his gaze to her but it was only filled with the coldness he was so well known for. "I have hunted and fought tooth and claw for this clan. You were steadily becoming useless because of your muteness. It was discussed often between the senior warriors," he stated in a matter of fact tone. They were gaining many annoyed stares because of their bickering, Eaglestar's included, but he easily ignored them. His icey blue gaze remained fixed on the she-cat in front of him. "I think I liked you better when you were silent," he muttered.

Suddenly, Fallensong could hold it in no longer. She would show him how useless she was! She sprung onto him with a screech of anger, and began clawing his scrawny shoulders. He thought he knew everything, well, let's see how he handles this!

Iceheart's eyes flashed in surprise for a fraction of a second before he began to retaliate. He slashed out her face but felt Fallensong pulled away.
------
Eaglestar couldn't take it anymore. She yanked her friend off of Iceheart and stood in between them. Her tail lashed and her eyes were ice cold. "Both of you will leave and not return until you have worked this out," she hissed in an annoyed voice. "Your supposed to be warriors, not apprentices!"

Fallensong immediately seemed to shrink, and she lowered her eyes meekly. "Sorry, Eaglestar." She mewed. She slunk out of the clearing, aware of the eyes of the Clan scorching her pelt. Out of the corner of her eyes, she glared at Iceheart.
